Quick Paleo Breakfast Options!


There is nothing special or new about this Paleo breakfasts, but sometimes in the morning it’s too easy to stand foggy-headed in front of the fridge thinking there is nothing to eat, or that there’s no time to cook.  Hopefully, these breakfast ideas  will save you on those days. They’re packed with protein and healthy fats, not to mention delicious flavors – the lemon from the chicken, the sweetly acid taste of the tomato, the velvety smooth avocado, the bitter coffee. It will power me through some early morning work, my workout, and through to lunch.

Alternatively, you might just be looking for some Paleo breakfast ideas! Well, you’ve come to the right place! Here are some of my breakfast recommendations that will surely tantalize your inner caveman (or cavewoman!)

 

Chicken, Egg, Avocado, Tomato

My breakfast isn’t going to win any gourmet cooking awards, but it’s healthy, filling, and Paleo-friendly! Oh, and it took about 5 minutes to prepare!

Instructions

  • Cut up a leftover lemon pepper chicken breast (I ate it cold, but you could heat it up in the toaster oven)
  • Peeled a hard-boiled egg (I boil a dozen right when I get home from the grocery store and keep them in the fridge)
  • Cut up half an avocado (I ate the other half yesterday morning)
  • Cut up a Kumato tomato (these are wonderful brown tomatoes I buy at Trader Joe’s)
  • Made a cup of coffee and a glass of water

Grilled Garlic Mushrooms, Tomatoes with Bacon

Ideal Paleo Breakfast Recipe  to eat separately or top over scrambled eggs

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients
- 2cups sliced mushrooms
- 1cup diced tomatoes
- 3 rashes bacon, chopped
- 3tbs parsley, finely chopped
- 3tbs olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
-Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions
- Pre-heat grill on medium-high heat.
- Place all ingredients in a bowl and combine well.
- Place on grill and cook, stirring occasionally for 5-8min, or until bacon has become slightly crispy and tomatoes and mushrooms have slightly shriveled. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve

Paleo Poach Eggs and Lox

Paleo Breakfast – Poach Eggs and Lox

 

Fresh eggs hold together better than older eggs. Depending on taste vinegar is optional. Vinegar will help the eggs congeal more easily.

Preparing poach eggs:

Ingredients:
- Fresh eggs
- 1 to 2 teaspoons of vinegar (optional)

Equipment:
- Slotted spoon
- Shallow saucepan with cover

1. Bring water in saucepan to almost boil. Adding vinegar at this point is optional.
2. Individually crack an egg into small cup and gently drop the egg into the water.
3. With spoon gently push egg whites closer to yolks.
4. Turn off heat and cover saucepan for appoximately 4 minutes or until whites are cooked.
5. Remove egg from saucepan with slotted spoon.
Put poached eggs on serving plate cover with lox and fresh vegetables to taste. Lox is smoked salmon thinly sliced.

 

 

Almond Pancakes

Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. gluten free vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 1/2 cups blanced almond flour
- 1/2 tsp. unrefined sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Prepare:
1. Beat eggs and mix in other ingredients until smooth then stir in almond flour
2. Oil griddle with coconut oil over medium heat.
3. Fill spoonful with batter onto skillet.
4. When bubbles appear flip pancakes and cook other side.

Paleo Breakfast Zucchini Pancakes

Paleo Zucchini Pancakes

 

Ingredients:
- 1 medium size zucchini
- 1 medium size green onion
- 1 large egg
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying
Prepare:
- Grate zucchini into a small bowl.

- Finely chop 1 green onion and mix with the zucchini.
- Combine 1 large egg into the bowl and mix thoroughly adding salt and pepper to taste.
-Spoon three mounds of the zucchini mixture into the pan and fry until lightly browned, pressing down to flatten. Flip and while second side is browning,

Raw Apple Crisp

Primal Raw Foods Breakfast Recipe

Nutritious quick and easy Paleo Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner Recipe. Fresh apples topped with mixture of nuts, spices and raisins. Can substitute apples with pears if desire.

Ingredients
-4  apples, cored and chopped
(Can substitute apple for pears)
-1/4 cup orange juice
-3/4 cup pecan halves
-3/4 cup hazelnuts
-3/4 cup raisins
-3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
-3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method

Put apples in an 8-inch square baking dish or 2-quart casserole dish. Drizzle with orange juice, toss until the fruit is coated and smooth the top. In a food processor, combine pecans, hazelnuts, raisins, ginger and cinnamon and pulse just until chopped. Spoon the nut mixture over the apple mixture and serve.

 

 

Savory Sweet Potato Paleo Hash Browns

 

 

 

 

 

 

2-3 large Sweet Potatoes

2 Tbsp  Extra Virgin Olive Oil

½ tsp Garlic

½ tsp  Parsley

½ tsp Bell Pepper or Chili Pepper,

½ tsp  Onion Powder

½ tsp Lemon Pepper

½ tsp Sesame Seeds

1 Tbsp  Chipotle Pepper Sauce

 Sea Salt and Pepper (to Taste)

*Optional Chives

Peel the sweet potatoes and then grate them on a cheese grater. Toss the gratings with the spices, salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Add potatoes. Cook until the sweet potatoes are tender, stirring frequently.

*NOTE: if you want it to be done faster, you can cover the skillet with a lid for a few minutes to steam the potatoes.

This Vegetable Antioxidant Shake should not be limited just for a delicious Paleo Breakfast. Ideal for Paleo Breakfast, Paleo Lunch or Paleo Dinner. Anti-oxidants  protects the body against harmful oxidants.

Ingredients

-2 cups fresh spinach
-3 stalks fresh kale
-1/2 cup fresh blueberries
-1 tangerine or 1/2 large orange
-1/2 cup coconut milk or orange juice
-2 peeled bananas
- 1 tablespoon ground flax seed

Directions:

-Rinse all fruits and vegetables. Add kale, spinach and coconut milk/juice to blender, blend thoroughly.
-Add remaining ingredients, blend.
May want to experiment with your favorite fruit and or add a little honey.
Serves 3

Paleo Breakfast- Fruits

Fruits: Citrus fruits, strawberries and other fruits are rich is vitamin C, A and E a protectors against a host of ills. These vitamins are important anti-oxidants and protects the body against oxidants. In Italy the daily open-air markets have produce picked that morning. Italian cooks rely on the fresh and local ingredients. We in America rely on produce-store-consume system. Antioxidants have a shelf life so try to purchase at local markets and do not store produce for long periods of time. Fruits like vegetables are fibrous. fruits provide roughage and fiber that is important in helping keep your digestive system regular.

Ingredients

-½ cup diced mango
-1tbs almond meal
-1tbs ground flax seeds
-1 passion fruit pulp
-2/3 cup water
-2 ice cubes

Instructions
-Place all ingredients into a blender and blend on high speed for 30seconds.

Fresh Fruit Salad

Fresh Fruit Salad – Paleo-Caveman
This fruit salad combines chopped peaches, strawberries, bananas, blueberries or blackberries and red and green grapes, dressed with a simple fresh lime and pineapple juice dressing. Fruits are seasonal in Winter months may substitute peaches and strawberries with grapefruits, cantaloupe or oranges. Substitute to taste.

Ingredients:
-6 peaches, peeled, pitted and chopped
-1 pound strawberries, rinsed, hulled and sliced
-1/2 pound seedless green grapes
-1/2 pound seedless red grapes
-3 bananas, peeled and sliced
-1/2 pound blackberries or blueberries (to taste)
-small amount of honey (topping to taste)

Dressing:
•juice of one lime
•1/2 cup pineapple juice
•1 teaspoon ground ginger
Preparation:
Combine chopped and sliced fruits in a large serving bowl; toss gently.Add small amount of honey to taste. Whisk together remaining ingredients in a small bowl or 1 cup measure. Pour dressing mixture over fruit and toss gently to combine. Cover and chill the fruit salad thoroughly before serving.
-This fruit salad recipe makes enough to serve about 10 to 12 people.

Strawberry Sweet Bread – Paleo Raw Food Bread Recipe

There is nothing like a slice of fresh bread in the morning. Paleo Raw Food Bread is a nutritious recipe combining cashews, omega, orange juice, strawberries and zucchini. Paleo breakfasts do not have to be boring. Enjoy this Paleo bread recipe top with fresh strawberries, peachs, bananas or favorite fruit.
Paleo Raw Food Recipe- Primal Recipe
Yield: 6-9 pieces
Paleo Breakfast-Raw Food Recipe
Ingredients:
-1 cup raw cashews
-1 cup Twister Sprouted Omega Blend
-3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
-2 cups strawberries, chopped
-2 cups zucchini, chopped
-2 teaspoons ginger powder
-1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
-1 teaspoon orange peel powder(optional, but yummy!)*
-1/2 teaspoon Himalayan crystal salt
-1/4 teaspoons tevia powder (optional, but yummy!)

-Grind the cashews to a fine grind using a blender or food processor (fitted with the “S” blade). Transfer to a large bowl. Add the Twister powder to the bowl and stir to mix the ingredients. Blend the remaining ingredients together using a blender. Transfer the blended mixture to the bowl with the cashew/Twister ingredients, and stir thoroughly to mix. Loosely cover the bowl with a piece of paper towel (or cloth towel), and let it sit on your counter for 2 hours.
-Spread all of the bread dough on a dehydrator tray lined with a non-stick Paraflexx sheet (from Excalibur ). It should be about 10″ x 10″ with a height (or thickness) of about 1/2″.
-Dehydrate at 135 degrees for one hour. Reduce the temperature to 105-110 degrees and continue dehydrating another 8-10 hours.
-Flip the bread onto a tray that is not lined with a Paraflexx sheet. Gently peel off the current sheet of Paraflexx being used. Continue dehydrating 10-12 hours. Cut the bread into desired size pieces and continue dehydrating another 1-4 hours, or more, depending on desired dryness. The goal is not to dry the bread completely if you want it like a soft bread.Strawberry Sweet Bread will stay fresh when stored in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up 5 days.

    Anitra my dear! I need your help. I was reading the blog this morning to see if I could come up with some good breakfast ideas. Where eggs are normally not an issue….I have to do everything within my power to choke them down while pregnant. I am trying but it’s pretty awful. My midwife wants me on a strict Paleo for the remainder of my pregnancy so I really need to figure something out for breakfast. Lunch and dinner aren’t really an issue and snacks I have figured out. Thanks!!!

    I am saved! These all sound absolutely awesome. I’ve never been a breakfast eater, and now I have a job whefe I’m up very early, and never eat breakfast which means I don’t eat until noon or even later (terrible I know) however, a couple of these sound pretty simple to put together and reheat the next day. Thank you!

    Hint on the hard cooked eggs…If you find your eggs hard to peel it is because very fresh eggs can be difficult to peel. To help with easily peeled eggs, buy and refrigerate them a week to 10 days in advance of cooking. This brief “breather” allows the eggs time to take in air, which helps separate the membranes from the shell.
